Kahuku Farms

Between the booking and the wagon ride, two things matter. The dollars left on the table at the café and the gift shop, and the small worries (shoes, sun, time) that drive a refund request. A 3-touch sequence (T-7, T-1, T+0) carries both, in the farm's own voice.

Café reserve-ahead (banana bread + mochi hold)
Pre-book a slice of grilled banana bread and a liliko‘i butter mochi held for the group after the tour. Solves a real on-property scarcity (mochi sells out by mid-afternoon per the testimonials on the homepage)."The mochi sells out most afternoons. Want us to set aside a piece per person for after your tour? Add it for $X."

Farm gift box for a friend back home
A small box of the same papaya, jam, and grilled banana bread guests just tasted, shipped wherever. Reuses the existing Shopify retail catalog. Highest leverage at booking confirmation, repeated at T-7."Send a friend the banana bread you just had. We'll ship a small farm box anywhere in the US."

Group / private tractor wagon
Bookings of 6+ get matched to a dedicated wagon run with a Matsuda or Fukuyama family member hosting. Brand-fit (family-led, not "VIP"). Captures reunion trips, multi-gen family bookings, small church groups."Six or more in your group? We can run a private wagon with one of the family farming it. Same tour, just yours."

Fireside at the Farm (return-visit upsell)
Day-tour guests are the warmest possible audience for the evening private fireside experience. Pitched as a return visit later in the same trip, not a same-day add. S'mores, fire, stars, no menu re-build needed."If you're back on the North Shore one night this trip, we run a private fireside at the farm. Two people, same place you came for the tour."

Farm-lunch pre-order at café
Pre-pick a lunch (papaya açaí bowl, panini, pizza) waiting at the café when the tour wraps. Removes the post-tour line, captures the lunch slot the operator currently leaves to walk-in chance."Pick your lunch now and we'll have it ready when you climb off the wagon. No line, no waiting on the day."

Closed-toe shoes, dirt-path footing
Refund pressure if guests show up in flip-flops on a working farm. Surface early so they pack right.
T-7
Tour duration unclear
Cancellation risk and low-NPS. Travelers can't slot the farm into a North Shore-loop day plan when "how long" is missing on the site.
T-7
Sun, water, bathroom on a working farm
Refund pressure on a hot day. One prep line at T-7 (hat, water, the bathroom is at the café) prevents 80% of inbound calls.
T-7
Mobility on dirt and wagon steps
Low-NPS and refund risk for older guests, strollers, or anyone with a knee. T-1 confirms what the wagon and field are actually like.
T-1
Weather and rescheduling on an open-air wagon
No-show and refund pressure on borderline-weather mornings. Day-of weather call with one-tap reschedule cuts both.

T-1 day
See you tomorrow at the farm. Here's the lay of the land.
"Tomorrow's wagon rolls at [time]. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early so we can get everyone signed in at the café. Closed-toe shoes, a hat, and water are the three things to bring. The farm's at 56-800 Kamehameha Hwy in Kahuku, parking's on-site and free. If the morning looks rainy, we'll text you by 8am."

T+0 morning
We're on for today. Wagon rolls at [time].
"Morning. We're on for today. Park in the lot at the café and check in at the front counter (the wagon loads from there). If you can't find us or you're running late, text this number. See you in a bit."

3 service-flow upgrades to ship into the booking flow
01
Add-on field at FareHarbor checkout
FareHarbor (item 9887) supports add-on line items at checkout. Wire two: "Hold banana bread + mochi for our group" and "Add a farm gift box, shipped." Captures upsell at the moment of highest commitment, no email needed for the first conversion.

02
Pre-arrival "what to wear, what to expect, where to park" page
One URL on kahukufarms.com, linked from every touch and from the FareHarbor confirmation. Covers shoes, sun, water, bathroom location, parking, tour duration, mobility (wagon steps, dirt paths), and the weather call protocol. Eliminates the inbound calls and the policy gap on the current tour page.

03
T+0 morning weather-call SMS with parking pin and reschedule link
Two-line SMS sent 2 to 3 hours before the wagon rolls. Confirms today's call (rolling or rescheduling), drops a parking pin, and gives a one-tap reschedule link if the morning's a wash. Replaces the 90% of "I can't find you" and "is it still on?" calls, removes the refund pressure on borderline-weather days.
